dancer
Poem: At a safe distance The crowd rims the room Content to whisper Going no where and doing nothing He beckons me One timid step on that stage To dance in the empty places To fill them with beauty and song Tentatively at first And the music finally roared Loud enough to drown out the voices He beckons me If I look at the crowd I stumble and lose my balance But if I dance They fade into backdrop He beckons me So I will dance in the Light And pray that The Lord of the Dance Will shake my fear So that together we may Fill the empty places with Beauty and Light.
